I have back up my harddisk and reformatted it and reinstalled XP Pro.

Now I cannot get back my Outlook Express emails.
1.   In importing .dbx, browsing brings me to the directory where many .dbx
files are stored.  But these are not displaying for my selection.  it is only
showned during search for .dbx files.  And right click allows me to get to
this folder using explorer.  Using the import function in OE does not display
these files.
2.  Could I have created a new profile that disallow me to retrieve this email
3.  I have used another technique suggested by www.oehelp.com, where I
create a folder call archiv1 in OE, click it once, and exit OE.  THen rename
an existing .bdx file to archiv1.bdx.  Then again going back to OE to click
on archiv1 folder.  This method did not work.

how can I get back my emails.

If you did a Repair Install, the dbx files would be in a different store
folder and a search for *.dbx (Advanced including Hidden Files and Folders),
would show their location.

If you did a hard reinstall without backing up OE first, then the messages
have not been saved. In that case, you /may/ have some success with this
tool as it can search the hard drive for fragmented messages.

DBXpress run in Extract From Disk Mode is the best chance to recover
