Duplicate Emails in Inbox, Why?

Is there a way to stop duplicate downloads of email from my Hotmail accounts
to appear in my OE email Accounts? Often I receive two of each email.

Tools | Options | General tab. Uncheck either: When starting, go directly to
my Inbox folder or, Send and receive messages at startup.

What if I did this and I still am getting the duplicates from hotmail?
