Hi,
I have a windows 98SE machine that is having a problem with IE. I can
connect to the internet just fine. I can ping servers (ie -
www.yahoo.com) once I am connected. But, when I try to open a browser
window and view any web sites, I get a cannot find server message. I
have adjusted the security to default (medium) and made sure that the
dial-up connection is set to be used by IE. But no pages come up. Any
ideas out there? I could really use some help here as I need to be able
to browse on that computer. Thanks in advance for any assistance. It is
greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
NWJhawk

I should have mentioned that it is IE 6.0 that is on the machine.
Thanks.

Hi,
First try running LSP Fix from http://www.cexx.org/lspfix.htm
If unsuccessful with that, check for malware. Try CWShredder, Ad-aware,
Spybot and the other at programs named and explained at
http://mvps.org/winhelp2002/unwanted.htm Also note the security tips on that
page.
You may have to run LSP Fix after removing malware.
