Can anyone tell me how to get rid of "About Blank" with out having to buy
special software?

I have SBC Yahoo DSL and evrytime I try to go to my mail I come up with a
strange search page. I've changed my home page but About Blank changes it
right back. It also added a button called about blank.
I've run mcafee & norton with no help...I've also run spybot which says it
removes it but it comes right back.

Plaese any help would be appreciated. Telguy99

SpySweeper (fully functional 30 days trial version)

Download, install, UPDATE and run.

Spybot Search & Destroy

Download, install, UPDATE and run.

Ad-Aware SE

Download, install, UPDATE and run.

You may also want to try About:Buster:

http://www.downloads.subratam.org/AboutBuster.zip

It's reported to get rid of some of the versions of that pest.

Download, unzip and run but don't forget to click the Check for Updates button.

And BEFORE running this tool, do get the LSP fix suggested by Frank Saunders, and this Winsock fix:

http://downloads.subratam.org/WinsockFix.zip

It may be necessary to run them if you lose internet access after the cleanup.

First, if you don't have WinXP SP2, get LSP-Fix - a free program to repair
damaged Winsock 2 stacks
http://www.cexx.org/lspfix.htm
save it because you might need to repair the Winsock 2 stacks after removing
the culprit.
For WinXP SP2 this command will restore the Winsock stacks if you can't
connect after clearing the malware.
Go to Start | Run and type
CMD
In the command window type
netsh winsock reset
Then get CWShredder
http://www.intermute.com/products/cwshredder.html
