This is new to me. All of a sudden, IE won't open a new window, even if you
want it to. That is, I right click on a link and choose "Open in New Window",
yet IE just gives me the link in the window I'm browsing. Even if I Cntl-N,
it won't give me a new window. What gives? Can someone please help?

I know that I recently installed Shockwave ActiveX, but I don't think that
may have something to do with it.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Hi there,

Check under Tools | Internet Options | Advanced, look in the Browsing
section and scroll down to "Reuse windows for launching shortcuts," and make
sure that is unchecked.

It will it you also installed the  Yahoo Companion Toolbar  at the same time.

BTW  Don Varnau  *often*  points this out.   (Last time which seems
surprisingly long ago was on  July 21.)
