I keeps jumping up!

I don't have high-speed access... this means that lots of sites take
30 sec to a minute or more to load. While I wait, I like to do other
things.

It'll happen like this. I'll click on a link in a web page, then I'll
minimize IE6 while I wait for the page to load. Then I'll be working
in excel or word when suddenly IE6 will un-minimize itself and jump to
the front.

How can I make IE6 just stay minimized until I'M READY to un-minimize
it myself?

Depends on what IE is doing.   Give an example URL or look at its source.
