I am in IE and it stops responding.  When I go to task manager the system
idle process is about 99% somewhere around there.  Could that have anything
to do with it and if so what should I do?

Hi.  I'm with you Mindy. Since a new version of IE (6. something) was
automatically installed on my machine last year when I installed 2004
TurboTax software, I can no longer successfully access secure web site for
work that require https::// to get in. The site starts to load up just fine
and then the left nav bar disappears and the whole thing freezes. I must then
CTRL+ALT+DEL in order to close out of that application. I just completed ALL
updates on MSFT website--including the cumulative security update for IE 6
service pack 1, but the problem still exists. funny thing (actually quite
sad) is that my previous version of IE (4 or 5) worked fine for getting onto
these type of sites.  PLEASE CAN ANYONE HELP ME????

Well, that's a little bit of progress. Now what does "stops responding"
mean? Give examples. Does it with happen with every web page, or only some
web pages? Do you see any error messages?

Hi Ted,
This is weird because I can play a game in Yahoo games and I think I mimize
IE and it goes on to my taskbar when i am done playing, and then when i go to
click back on it, it wont even open up, but when i right click on it, I have
the option to close and minimize u know, but it wont let me even close it, or
maximize it.  it just stays on my taskbar.

Also, when I try to click on a link on the here, for spyware help that is
posted on here the IE freezes.  I have to start all over again.  And press
Clt. Alt. delete and it sometimes takes a while.  When I say stop responding
I mean I can't open it close it nothing.  And, I dont think it matters what
web site I am on.  I am on here and  it does it here too.
