IE/Outlook Exp error msg ???

I got the following error msg and then went to
search for it only to be
told it can't be found.  Does a title
"d87a_appcompat.txt" mean anything?
I was in the middle of trying to click a link
within an email and got the
error msg and then it shut down.  This seems to
happen quite often.
Windows XP Sp2

Thanks in advance for the help !

Does Microsoft purposely make it so you can't
copy/paste and error msg?
Some of the err msg's are very long to have to
hand copy and then re-type
to get help.  I'm sure it's been suggested to them
before.  Anyone seen
the email circulating about "GM vs Microsoft
talks".  It a good laugh,
scary but so true.
Bubey - 27 May 2008 04:41 GMT
P.S.... It happened again, but this time I found the file.
Here is the info being sent to Microsoft.

I got the following error msg and then went to
search for it only to be
told it can't be found.  Does a title
"d87a_appcompat.txt" mean anything?
I was in the middle of trying to click a link
within an email and got the
error msg and then it shut down.  This seems to
happen quite often.
I use: Windows XP Sp2

Thanks in advance for the help !

Does Microsoft purposely make it so you can't
copy/paste and error msg?
Some of the err msg's are very long to have to
hand copy and then re-type
to get help.  I'm sure it's been suggested to them
before.  Anyone seen
the email circulating about "GM vs Microsoft
talks".  It a good laugh,
scary but so true.

Bubey,
Download the free version of Snagit or some other program that will do the
same thing. It will make a scrolling screen shot that will copy your extra
long error message. Find it with Google.

What "shut down"?

Was the email containing the link sent by someone you know and were you expecting the message and link?

It wasn't a email PA Bear.  It was a line for information from someone I
know, and yes
I was expecting it.  Up came the error msg
and I given a choice to send info to MS or
click no.  When I clicked on the button IE
then closed and I had to start all over.  IE
seems to do this when I'm just browsing too.
Thanks !

I did run Micro Trends Housecalls.  Is it just as good or should I re-do it
with one of these you have suggested?

An online virus scan usually is not sufficient, Bubey (assuming the scan did
not resolve the problems).
