HELP!   I CANNOT IMPORT MSGS FROM MSOE 5

Can anyone help?   I am switching from an old Win98 computer running MSOE
5.00.2615.200 to a nice new WinXP SP2 computer running MSOE 6.00.2900.2180.
I have copied my store files from my old computer by using the instructions
in KB Article 270670.

When I go to import the files into MS OE6, the KB Article, and others, seem
to suggest that I should see an option on the Import Menu for Importing from
"Microsoft Outlook Express 5".   I only see an option to import from
"Microsoft Outlook Express 4" and "Microsoft Outlook Express 6."     When I
attempt to use either of these and then browse to the Mail Backup folder I
created, I get the message "No messages can be found in this folder or
another application is running that has the required files open."     I have
checked to make sure the files are not 'Read Only' and it doesn't appear
that there's another program running that would have these files open.

What could be wrong?   Why don't I see the option to import "Microsoft
Outlook Express 5" messages?

Please reply to: cbprice01@comcast.net and my friend mleyde@att.net who is
helping me.

Thanks, in advance, for any help!

Probably because that choice does not exist in MSOE 6. Try using the
Import by selecting "Microsoft Outlook Express 6" option; the .dbx
folder format is the same between the two.

Having trouble finding your way back to the message you posted? You need
to learn how to use MSOE as a news reader; be sure you aren't hiding
read messages.
