Suspending Hyperlink Search with Outlook Express 6?

Is it possible to suspend or eliminate Outlook Express from checking for
hyperlinks within email messages?

I use O.E for newsgroup reading where some of the messages and posted file
downloads need to be save in text format.  When this happens, O.E. begins
looking for hyperlinks.  I would like to turn this feature off when saving
such postings.

Is there a way to suspend the checking of hyperlinks?

Tips, suggestions and recommendations will be appreciated!

Two ways.  1.  Click File/Work Offline, or 2.  Disable the Preview Pane
(View/Layout).

Thank you Jim, for your quick reply.  I shall try method 1 the next time I
download such a file.

Thank you!

Glad to help and let any of us know if you continue to have a problem with
it.

I was having the same problem, but the 2 methods mentioned did not resolve
the issue.
I have a large message that I wanted to Save As Text.  On a Windows 2000
machine I could
go->  Ctrl F A Tab T and click Save quickly before the search for hyperlinks
began.
With Windows XP the process is much slower as it quickly starts the search
for hyperlinks.
I really wish there was a registry setting or something to tell OE6 to just
not search the message for hyperlinks.
Thanks
Kenneth
