Look to see if it got moved under one of the other folders as a subfolder.
There should be a plus sign you can click on in the folder list if the
folder has a subfolder.

Search for *.dbx.  I don't know how that could have happened.

See www.oehelp.com/OETips.aspx#4

I have tried importing from '.dbx' without success. I have located an
Inbox.bak file; When I try to run this file I need a file association?, what
do I use?.
I'm confident the Inbox file exists in the Application Data but I cant get
the Inbox into the OE Local Folders!

First, delete folders.dbx.  See if then when you start OE there is an inbox.
If so then close OE and delete the inbox.dbx file.  Then go to the Recycle
bin and restore the inbox.bak file and then rename it to inbox.dbx.  Then
start OE.

If it works, then make a backup.

Thanks Steve, I've got my Inbox back by deleting the folders.dbx and without
progressing through your other suggestions, since this seems OK.
I'm not sure how deleting a file gives me back my Inbox!?; but thanks again
anyway.
Do you know how I could have lost it in the first place?

Thanks  John

I'm glad it worked.  Folders.dbx gets corrupted often.  Its important to
compact regularly and backup regularly as well, as OE is quite susceptible
to corruption.  See points 2 and 3 here also:  www.oehelp.com/OETips.aspx

Which file should I backup as you suggest?

Backup *everything* on OE daily.

This freeware tool backs up everything in OE in seconds. Disregard what is
written in red. That is referring to a different program.

Tried to install but unable to; message in Dialogue Box = Setup =
C:\Windows\system32\msvbvm60.dll - destination file is write protected -
abort/retry/ignore.

What should I do?

Is this when you are trying to download the program? Create a folder for all
programs you download, (mine is in My Documents). Click Save and save the
download to this folder. Now Run from there. The destination should be
C:\Program Files, not C:\Windows\system32\msvbvm60.dll.

stated.

I don't have the answer for that, but the author of the program reads these
posts and will probably have the fix for you.

Ignore.  That means the files are already there.  You might get by with just
the exe.

Thanks again Steve, the program continued to install after I aborted, but I
think it is the 'Freebie' program!, and I have it in use.

Thanks for all your help including Bruce.

Did you try importing from the DBX files or the folder that holds them?
Import from the folder, not the files.
