Hello all
When I created a "new identity" I was under the impression that responses to
messages sent from one identity would be exclusive to that identity.
Especially since the "accounts" used are setup exclusive to the particular
identity.
I see that I was wrong (or have set something up wrong), since responses to
messages sent from one identity show up in the other - if it happens to be
open at the time.
2 questions therefore ..
1. Can I make them act exclusively, like I thought they were ?
2. How can I move the messages I have received from one identity to the
other ?
Any help gratefully accepted.

Does your ISP allow you to create new email addresses?
Do these addresses use the same password?
If yes, then you have to setup message rules.

From another post:
If they /are/ aliases for the same mail account, you'll need to use Message
Rules to filter messages on both machines. The following refers to two
addresses, but you should be able to follow it and amend for three or more.
In the OE identity associated with Me@ISP.com, create a Message Rule
stating, "Where To or CC contains You@ISP.com, Do not download it from the
server" and place this rule at the very top of the list.
Then create a similar rule for the OE identity associated with You@ISP.com
directing any messages addressed to Me@ISP.com not to be downloaded from the
server.

Right click your desktop and choose New....Folder. Name it something other
than New Folder if you wish. Open OE in less than full screen so you can
also see that New Folder on your desktop. Go to the identity you want to
copy from. Highlight the messages you wish to move. Right click and drag
them to the New Folder. Release the right button and choose Copy if you
wish to have those messages in both identities or Move if you wish to remove
them from the current identity.
Now go to the different identity you want to copy/move the messages to. Go
to the New Folder on your desktop and highlight the messages you wish to
move. Right click and drag them from the New Folder to whatever folder you
wish in your current identity. Release the mouse button and choose Copy if
you wish to leave the messages in the New Folder and copy them to your
changed identity. Choose Move if you don't want to leave them in your New
Folder.
For safety's sake you might want to use Copy rather than Move until you are
comfortable and are sure you won't accidentally lose messages with Move.
