Greetings Community,

Is it possible for a Outlook Express account's settings to be reverted to
default settings without someone doing it?  The reason I ask is because we
have 3 out of 4 machines on a small SOHO office network. This network now
has 3 of the 4 machines with their account settings intact except for;
"leave a copy of the message on the server for ___days".  We had originally
set this from the default of 5 days to a higher  number like 7 or 10.  Now,
after complaints of "not getting messages" I see these settings have
changed.  Of course, the users of this PC claim to not have changed
anything, not authorized anyone else to use their account, and have
protected their logon accounts so well, "no one else has had access". Yet,
the changes have been made to default.
The path of this account setting is *name of email
account>properties>advanced tab>"leave a copy of the message on the server
for ___days". If someone can give me a lead of a direct answer I would love
that.  The user(s) explanations are "it wasn't us, and one ahs said could a
virus etc. do that?  I don't know so I am asking this community for
assistance.

Thanks,

TSS

One or more options/settings, commonly known as "system protections", in an
ever-growing number of third-party applications may be disallowing the
setting(s) from "sticking". These include but are not limited to Ad-aware's
Ad-Watch, Spybot Tea Timer, SpywareBlaster, SpySweeper, Spyware Doctor,
Norton AntiVirus, McAfee VirusScan and/or Antispyware, and Zone Alarm (Free
and Pro).
