Before I changed to Comcast with telephone service (I had Comcast cable TV
and ISP before), if I clicked on a message in OE, it would show in the
preview pane, as it should.  It still usually does that, but occasionally,
one click opens the message full screen.  If I want to open the message, I
should have to click twice, not once, and this is usually the case, but not
always now.  Windows XP Pro, OE 6.

You can try changing the doubleclick speed of your mouse

This can happen if the mouse is moving while you click.

Thanks for the replies.  I don't think the mouse is moving.  I did not have
this problem before I updated Comcast.  In addition, on occasion when it
does show the message full screen and I click the red "x" to get back to OE,
OE will disappear.  This just happened a few minutes ago, but although OE
crashed (?), it continued to download messages to an OE that wasn't opened.
I re-opened OE and all the messages were downloaded.

What does "updated Comcast" mean? Did you install any software from them?

I added telephone service from them.  This involved a new modem, an
installation disc,  and a Comcast Desktop Doctor program.

I suspect Comcast Desktop Doctor did something it shouldn't have, but I have
no idea what.  Sorry.
