In the Folders display pane, is it possible to change the display order of
folders under the "Local Folders" parent entry?

You can't change the default folders. For user created folders, they are
displayed alphabetically. To work around this you would have to alter the
folder name. Put a number in front of each user created folder. E.G., if you
have a folder called Saved Mail, and you want this to be the first, change
the name to 1-Saved Mail. For the next, chance it to 2-Xxxxxxx etc.

Good information to know.  The folder I want to move was created by a
third-party spam filter program, so I'm reluctant to rename the folder until
I find out if I can change the spam filter so it knows where to deposit
filtered messages.  Anyway, this gets me started.  Thanks, Bruce!

Look in your Message Rules (Tools, Message Rules, Mail).  Most likely
the spam filter created a rule to move messages with some text in the
subject to your spam folder.  If it hasn't done something to prevent you
from modifying the rule, you can rename the folder and then modify the
rule to point to the new folder name.
