Hello to all,
A customer suddenly can't receive his hotmail in OE6, checked and verified
all proper settings in OE, all http settings and all, it tries to download
hotmail emails and stays like that for a while (downloading folders, please
wait, bla bla bla) after that, i receive these two errors:
1) UNKNOWN ERROR:
Configuration:
Account: Hotmail
Server: http://services.msn.com/svcs/hotmail/httpmail.asp
Username: XXXXX@hotmail.com
Protocol: HTTPMail
2) Errors during processing of required tasks (translation from spanish,
sorry if not accurate)
Can not poll new messages in HTTP server. Account: 'Hotmail', Server:
'http://services.msn.com/svcs/hotmail/httpmail.asp', Protocol: HTTPMail,
Port: 0, Security (SSL): No, Socket error: 12019, Error Number: 0x800004005
This customer have been checking his hotmail since long time ago and this is
suddenly happening since a few day ago, using WinXP SP2 and not installed
any new software nor any updates lately.
Other users are checking their Hotmail through OE just fine (including me)
but this specific user, any help will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
JR.

Most of the time, the error indicates problems on MSN/Hotmail's end (despite
what they may say). Here are some things you can check:
Make certain your time, date, and /time zone/ settings are correct.
IE Tools>Internet Options>Privacy>Sites> type in
hotmail.com
live.com
and AllowCookies for each domain, in turn.
How to Manage Cookies (IE6)

Temporarily disable your firewall (BE CAREFUL! Enable the Windows Firewall
immediately after doing so!), any "system" tools and pop-up/ad blockers to
see if they're interfering.
If you use a router, you may need to adjust MTU values:

IE Tools > Internet Options > Advanced > HTTP 1.1 > toggle on/off; "Use HTTP
1.1 through proxy connections" must *not* be checked.
IE Tools > Internet Options > Security > [zone in OE runs; should be
Restricted Sites] > Custom Level > User Authentication > Logon > toggle
between the setting choices here [All options EXCEPT 'Automatic logon only
in Intranet zone' work for me; currently 'Anonymous logon' is checked]
Resetting either or both of the above Tabs to the defaults might help, too.

Hello, thanks for your reply.
Tried all suggested and the only thing that worked was unchecking HTTP 1.1.
If I leave this checked then OE won't connect and download all Hotmail. PC
with WinXP SP2, is there a bug with XP?? because I use Win2000 and i don't
have this problem.
Thanks for your help, it really solve this issue.
