then 10 minutes it comes up with this error message.
Possible causes for this include server problems, network problems, or a
long period of inactivity. Subject 'Fw: Can You Relate?', Account: 'Yahoo!',

There is no OE 7.
There is IE 7 and OE 6.
How big is the email?
Are you virus scanning outgoing email?

I just tried sending myself an email through that server. MS Outlook Express
6, configured for 'smtp.att.yahoo.com:465' w/SSL. Three attached photos at
3.53MB, 3.19MB, and 3.57 MB. My first attempt failed after ten minutes, with
the same error message. But it was only 75% complete, or so; I was seeding a
torrent when I started. I paused the torrent and tried again. In just over
eight minutes the send was complete.
My connection is 'at&t Yahoo! HSI' Pro; 3,008kpbs/512kbps. I would say you
have hit a hard limit on the server, where it doesn't like a send to take
over ten minutes (even though the total allowed email size is supposed to be
20MB).
I'd suggest one of two things. Reduce the size of the email. Try using
'smtpauth.sbcglobal.net' instead. This server requires authentication, same
as the Yahoo! server, but not port 465. Either port 25, or port 587 will
work. No log in encryption, though.

I tried changing smtp.att.yahoo.com to smtpauth.sbcglobal.net on my out mail
and 465 to 25 and to 587 and I also turned off my outgoing mail check for
virus on Norton. I must be doing someting wrong because it would not pickup
the mail to send at all.

You also used <%User_ID%@sbcglobal.net> as the user name for log in? Or
whichever of the nine domains is your email address domain? You did not try
SSL? 'smtpauth.sbcgloba.net' is an authenticating server, you *must* use
your full AT&T email address as the user name. No SSL, though.

Email scanning should be turned off in any anti-virus. Also exclude EML
files from the scan. It provides no
protection not provided by the regular resident protection.
Besides that, McAfee and Norton are not compatible with Windows Mail and
Outlook Express and should be uninstalled.
