Getting "unknown error" moving files to local folders.

I'm using Outlook Express 6 for my MSN email.
When trying to move messages to local folders
I get "unknown error" and the file is not moved.
Same thing happens when I try to delete,
"unknown error" and the file is not deleted.
However, several minutes later the messages are
moved or deleted. Any ideas on what may be
going on. These are new errors that started
happening in the past two weeks.

When you move a message out of an MSN folder or delete it from an MSN
folder, the message is also deleted on the MSN web site. That's because
your OE folders mirror the server folders for HTTP (Hotmail and MSN) and
IMAP servers.

I would suspect that OE is having some temporary problem communicating
with the MSN server that it eventually gets to work.

Sounds like a problem on MSN/Hotmail's end.

Does it matter what MSN folder you're moving them from (e.g., Bulk Mail vs
Inbox)?

Have you tried making sure you've polled for new messages before trying to
move any?

I waited until all my new mail was received.

I tried to delete junk email messages, some of them were deleted
and I got the unknown error on the others one. Does not matter what
MSN folder I'm moving them from. I've been trying to move them
from Inbox to a local folder.

Again, it sounds like temporary problems on MSN/Hotmail's end.

Tip: Before attempting to move a message from any MSN folder other than MSN
Inbox to a Local folder, move it to MSN Inbox folder first.
