Hi. Am using Win XP SP2, OE 6, IE6.

I've noticed something I don't like when viewing
replies to "microsoft.public.windowsxp-general" posts.

When someone replies to my posts by posting at the
bottom, and includes the full text of my original message
in his/her reply, my full email address is displayed at the
top of the that person's reply. In example:

"Joe" <josephabcdefg@knology.net> wrote in message
news:dc8a5$43638ebc$18d69944$23123@KNOLOGY.NET...

That appears above the text when someone replies to my message.

How can I defeat this practice? I don't see it happening
when replies are posted to messages from other posters.

I must have an incorrect setting or two. Your advice would be
greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Joe

Double click the account and change the email address to something fake like
Jose@nowhere.invalid
Make sure it ends with .invalid

PA Bear's suggestion is the only sure way to do anything on your end.
However, some of us have taken steps on our end so that our clients don't
post the poster's email address as a part of the reply.
