I've seen a lot of posts on this subject but unfortunately none of them have
helped me.  My hard drive crashed but it appeared to only affect the OS.  I
still have access to all of the old files.  I have been able to move my OE
messages from the old hard drive to the new machine.

I was running Outlook Express 6.0 on my old hard drive.  I would like to run
Outlook 2003 on my new one.  If I could get the email accounts and contacts
on OE 6.0 on the new one, then I know how to get it into Outlook.

I've looked at the oehelp.com and insideoutlookexpress.com (and a few
others) that I have seen in previous posts, but they do not help me.  I've
even downloaded a few backup tools to try and retrieve the information.  The
problem with them is they default to backing up what is on my NEW hard drive
and not my OLD one.

I cannot find either a .pst or a .wab file on my old hard drive.  All I can
find are the .dbx files.

I am able to load the registry hives from the old hard drive, if this is
what I need.

How can I get the my old contacts and email account information moved from
my old drive to my new one?  Thanks in advance for your help.

The DBX files would contain your messages.  Sounds like you got that
over OK.

Your address book would be a WAB file UNLESS you had Outlook installed
and set Outlook Express to share the Outlook Contacts.  In that case,
your contacts would have been in either a PAB or PST file in Outlook.
Either of those you would move to Outlook on the new PC without
involving Outlook Express.  Be sure to search for SYSTEM and HIDDEN
files.  For some more information on the WAB, see:
The Windows Address Book (WAB)

Your account information was stored in the registry.  See the following
or the relevant keys

Thanks for the response.  The hard drive finally completely croaked and I no
longer have access to the old registry settings.  In any event, I had already
tried the OEHELP website and it didn't really help in my case.
