Hi,
Finally I updated to SP2 and you know what?  My OE-6 can NOT display images in Preview and in Open mode.
My IE6 is working good and including my Windows Explorer except the main Windows-xp start-up is a BIG
slow in propagating all my desktop Icons.

How bad is OE6 now? Oh, I saw lots of red-X empty boxes -- all text messages are OK. This were seen
all throughout my old and new mails.

3 Questions: What is the best way to troubleshoot OE6? Will re-installing my SP2 CD fix it or worsen it?
Can I Restore back my old fast working PC without SP2?

TIA,
Rino

Tools | Options | Security. If you uncheck: "Block images........", can you
see them now?

Run a Defrag to see if that speeds things up.

You might want to remove it and reinstall. If using a CD, make sure all
other programs are closed and work offline with your anti-virus off.

Many Thanks Bruce Hagen!  Your No.-1 tips cured my problem. Lucky we've this NG and good MVP's around because
the SP2 CD didn't mention it at the end of installation and I've to configured my selected choices again. And YES, I'll
continues to do Defrag because I've forgotten this needed steps.

Your 3rd & last tips are all good -- will follow them when needed.

You're very welcome. Take your time, but when you feel brave, you have a
number of updates waiting for you. Always close all other programs and turn
your AV off when you download & install. I would suggest for you that you
start with the critical updates and just do a few at a time. Play with the
machine and do a few more.

Congratulations!  Now check in at Windows Update and install all critical
updates offered, then make sure Automatic Updates is enabled.

How to configure and use Automatic Updates in WinXP:

NB: I would NOT recommend installing IE7 via Windows Updates or Automatic
Updates.
