Hello folks
Whilst I realise that this must be very basic, I cannot get it sorted.

I have just signed up for a new email address with Yahoo.
The new address is  "myname1000@yahoo.com". My new password is "password".

I cannot get OE to work with this. Although it will accept the new info when
typed in, when starting OE it will not accept it and keeps comes up with a
window asking for the correct password. Although the password is already in
the box, I retype it and it will still not accept.

I am using a shared wireless connection provided from BT. Can I assume that
'free' email services must go through the appropriate website rather than
through OE.
Hope that this is enough info.

Your help is and always has been very much appreciated.
Thanking you in anticipation.

Is this a pop account?
What server settings are you using?

You have to enable POP3 access for the account at Yahoo web site.

But I believe that's not an option for free Yahoo accounts.

Thanks to Ron and Michael.
I think Michael has hit the nail on the head with the 'free' email info.
Perhaps you or someone else can point me in the direction of any other free
email that can be used with OE, or is that an impossibility.

Best regards

Who do you pay for your mothly Internet connection? As long as you have
that, OE is a free e-mail client. I just use my TV/Cable company.

Gmail works with MS Outlook Express, as does AOL Mail. If you have access to
an SMTP service, Fastmail provides free IMAP access.

Thanks to Gregg and N.Miller for the info.
Just signed up to Gmail and now working fine with OE.

Thanks to Bruce as well. Unfortunately this is not an option. I pay a small
fee to a neighbour for use of their wireless bradband. I cannot really get
involved and try to obtain a new email address. I might be pushing my luck
with them.

Best regards to you all.
