Do I have to change "options" to "Plain Text" rather than "HTML" to avoid
attachments being opened automatically by OE?  I want to avoid the
possibility of a malicious attachment being opened without my consent but do
like using "HTML".

Thanks.............Ralph

Only graphic attachments appear open. (GIF, JPG & BMP). These are /usually/
not the type that carry bugs along with them. Plain Text is the safest way
to go, but if you have a decent AV program, it shouldn't be a problem.

You can make a change so you don't see the graphics and still use HTML by
doing the following.

To prevent attached graphics to be viewed automatically in messages you
/receive/ after the message body, see:

Thanks Bruce.  I checked the link you suggested and the files mentioned in
the link "automatically inline Images" was not listed.  I do have full
McAffee anti-virus/hacker/spyware protection so  I will leave well enough
alone.

I really appreciate your help.  Thanks...........Ralph

If you have OE in the restricted zone under Tools | Options | Security then
you needn't worry.
