windows98 outlook express 6 problem w/attachments

For some reason every time I try to send an email w/attachments lately,
multiple copies/emails of unreadable garbage are sent.  I find no virus, and
when I send the same attachments from either yahoo or gmail I don't have the
problem.  HELP!  I need to use this 98 version for another couple of weeks
before I switch Outlook Express to my XP system.

Tools | Accounts | Mail | Properties | Advanced. Uncheck: "Break apart
messages........".
