My hard drive died and had saved some draft messages locally in Drafts
Folder.  Is there a file I can recover to retrieve my Draft messages?  Where
would it be located?

Can I assume you reformatted? If you didn't backup the messages, then they
are gone.

The drive is readable as a slave on another PC.  I am able to view the C:\
and D:\ partitions.  I only need to recover my draft messages stored in
Outlook Express but I dont know where they would be stored.

Tools | Options | Maintenance | Store Folder will reveal the location of
your Outlook Express files. Write the location down and navigate to it in
Windows Explorer or, copy and paste it into Start | Run.

In WinXP, Win2K & Win2K3, the OE user files (DBX and WAB) are by default
marked as hidden. To view these files in Windows Explorer, you must enable
Show Hidden Files and Folders under Start | Control Panel | Folder Options
Icon | View, or in Windows Explorer | Tools | Folder Options | View.

The old location will look similar to the current location.
(old drive):\Documents and Settings\Keith\Local Settings\Application
Data\Identities\{long string of numbers and letters}\Microsoft\Outlook
Express
File, Import, Messages, OE6, Store Directory, point to the old location and
select the Drafts folder.

If the hard drive died, how are you going to access it to get at any
files on it?
