Tools | Accounts | Mail. Remove the mail account.

Also:
OETools | Accounts | Mail | [account] | Properties | General | Include this
account when... (uncheck).
OE Tools | Options | Check for new messages every... (uncheck; then Send
your newsgroup posts manually).

Thanks for the tips for the above. Here's a related but perhaps tougher
question. I would like to transfer some of the OE mail to my SeaMonkey mail.
I tried a drag and copy, but that certainly didn't work. I suppose I'll just
have to forward some of them to myself.

I'm afraid you'll have to ask about SeaMonkey in a SeaMonkey forum or
newsgroup.
