basically running home premium vista 32bit, i tried to install virtual pc
and it worked had a system to boot xp, the virtual pc did the bios test all
checked out but didn't boot to xp it just froze it told me that it wasn't
able to boot, am i missing something do i need to install xp on it, or does
it have the operating system all ready when you select what is the os that
you want, i uninstalled it but now i'm thinking that i didn't try hard
enough.

Hi Jonathan,

Yes, you have to install whichever operating system you require.  The
choices in the wizard are to best prepare your virtual machine for the
operating system that *you* are going to provide for it.

i have a little problem i got linux mandriva to boot on the virtual pc but
it seems slow compare to when i boot directly from the cd, the hard drive
keeps working so is the cdrom which make sense cuz it's booting from cdrom,
but it's just weird it takes a long time, ahhh might of gotten it the screen
got bigger and now it's all dark, ok i got it working somewhat but for
somereason the resolution is way bigger than what my pc can handle

alright xp works on my system it's strange it shouldn't of worked the
product id was disabled by ms becaus eit had been used too often but hey i
don't care, now i just need to find a way to get linux to work on there, i
know i will i'm probably missing a important piece of info. by the way i
have new advice use virtual pc and torture your os using the recovery so you
don't always have to re-install, and you can keep torturing windows, you
know i will.

are spamming the newsgroup with all that sig crap?
7 lines of actual posting text
