Hello,
Does anyone know if this is possible?
I can create a image and load it into the virtual PC, but the
underlying hardware will probably be too different for it to run - or
is there a way to make the virtual PC "have" certain hardware?
>From what I have read it seems VMware can do it?
Cheers

If I understand it right, this process works by making the image
(which uses say hardware ABC) work with the virtual PC which uses hard
DEF.
So for instance if the image was a PC that used a Intel ProWireless
LAN card, the virtual PC, when booted will not still have a
"Prowireless lan card" ?
Does Vmware do it in this way too?

True enough - sounds like a good candidate for addition to the FAQ...

Yes, Acronis Trueimage with Universal Restore can move a virtual PC back
to a physical. (BTW, both a virtual machine and physical one are "real"
, i.e. not imaginary).
