VPC performance issues

I created an XP using VPC 2007 on my Vista host PC (2GB RAM).

Things went well, and I can even run VS 2005 on the XP VPC. Only that the
performance is not that good, taking lots of time just to load the VS 2005
project.

Is there any document/parameters regarding hardware/memory
requirements/settings for VPC performance in relation to the host?

Thanks a million

No he isn't - he just hasn't installed the Additions, by the sound of it...

You need to install the VPC Additions.  Action menu for the VM,
"Install or update Virtual Machine Additions."

Thanks all for responding.

I had already installed VM Additions.

Still need to know how the VPC is using the resource from the host.
For example, if I add more RAM to the host, would it improve the VPC's
performance

Thanks

definatly would help period although i have two gig and it's fast may be you
put too much ram going to the guest os no more than 512mb for xp 2000 on my
pc vista will be the only one i give 1gb to.

yes i'm running two vista my host and my guest, that way i can do test as to
how my pc will react when i do a major change in software.

How to you assign RAM to the VPC? I didn't see any prompt regarding this
while creating the VPC.

Another issue I found is that it takes forever to copy something from a
network folder (I mapped a drive letter to the folder). Is it by design or
because of improper configuration?

Yep, it's part of the virtual machine wizard.

If you want to alter the amount of RAM your virtual machine will use after
you've created it, just make sure it's not running, select it (but don't
start it!) in the VPC console and then click Settings...

Remember, though, that the more RAM you assign to a virtual machine, the
less RAM will be available to the host when that virtual machine is
running...

That all depends, how much RAM do you have allocated to the VM?
