Mouse and keyboard are not workig in ubuntu

i wanted to install Ubuntu using VPC but the problem is that mouse and
keyboard are not working ...after the boot screen where u have to select
install and live cd the keyboard work's fine but when Ubuntu is loaded the
noting work's plz ..help

I guess you mean nothing works...

In order to install Ubuntu in VPC, you need to download the alternate CD,
not the live CD.

Then, when the installation begins, you need to choose 'Text' install

Finally, when you get to the section about graphics, you need to set the
colour depth to 16-bit.

HOWEVER, there is a current bug with (virtually) all Linux distros at the
moment which relates to PS/2 mice. Since virtual machines emulate a PS/2
mouse, this is going to be an issue... There are several suggested
workarounds, none of which is even remotely satisfactory.

Alternatively, none of the above applies to VMWare, which installs Ubuntu
perfectly, including the Tools (their equivalent of the Additions):
