Martin S. - 21 Oct 2007 03:04 GMT I'm running VPC 2007 but the hardware virtualization is greyed out. I have an Intel Core 2 Duo 6750 running on a Foxconn G33M-S mobo with Vista Business, HV is enabled in the bios but still no love, any idea's??
Thanks, Martin.
Stuart P. Bentley - 21 Oct 2007 03:36 GMT Just wondering, is this the 64 bit version of Vista?

Martin S. - 21 Oct 2007 19:41 GMT I'm aware of this, but... it's still grayed out.
The only thing I can think of is the newer chipset motherboard and newer Core 2 Duo CPU is recognized by VPC.

Is it enabled under File-->Options-->Hardware Virtualization? This needs to be enabled first.

Martin S. - 21 Oct 2007 19:51 GMT Nope, it's grayed out...

Martin S. - 22 Oct 2007 01:11 GMT It's been enabled in the bios ever since I built the computer about a month ago. It's had many, many, many hard power cycles!!!

I agree with you, it should be working, but it's not... :-(

Martin S. - 23 Oct 2007 04:16 GMT I've noticed that VPC 2007 is reporting that my C2D 6750 is a Pentium III class CPU, which is probably why HV isn't working. What CPU is VPC seeing on other computers?

That is how my X6800 and q6600 are reported and HV works fine on both. The biggest issue with HV and VPC has been buggy BIOS implementations. It took Toshiba almost a year to get it worked out on some of their notebooks/tablets.

Martin S. - 29 Nov 2007 05:48 GMT Well, just got a bios update for my Faxconn G33M-S mobo today and now the HV works fine...
