Cannot connect VirtualPC to internet

I have recently changed two things to my networking configuration: (1)
switched from DSL to Cable modem, and (2) switched routers from a
Linksys(BEFSR41 ver. 3) to a 2Wire(270HGV).

Before I could connect to the internet on both my host and my virtual
without any issue.  Now I can still connect from my host, but not from the
virtual.  VirtualPC version is 6.0.156.0.  Both host and virtual are running
Windows XP Pro w/ latest patches.

I have tried every combination possible on the Networking Settings of the
virtual.  I've tried shared networking, local only, and the drop-down option
where it lists my specific NIC card information.  I've also tried entering
multiple network adapters.  I am out of ideas.  Any help would be greatly
appreciated.

Here is the current ipconfig /all results from the Host:

That should all be working. The vm must be in the right network because
it is getting its network config from the gateway router. It should look
like just another machine on the LAN to the router.

You don't have any third-party firewall product (like NIS) on the vm, do
you? Or any MAC address restictions on the router?

I have ZoneAlarm on both host and virtual.  Since your reply I turned off the
ZoneAlarm firewall on the virtual, but still no luck.  I suspect it has
something to do with my router.  Does anyone have any experience connecting
virtualPCs through a 2Wire modem.  I didn't find anything on their website.
Thanks.

Your networking is OK, you don't have to change anything there. The
ipconfig info you posted shows that the VM NIC gets its data from the
router all right.

But it might well be that ZoneAlarm on the host is interfering. Switch
it off and test again.

Don't turn ZA off only. You have to uninstall it completely from both
machines!

I am running ZoneAlarm on both the host and guest computer through a Netgear
RangeMax router.  The host is WinXP Pro and the guest is Win98SE.  To get
VPC to connect to the internet I have to reset my host ZoneAlarm Firewall
Trusted Zone Security to medium.

"Or any MAC address restictions on the router?" - I have a strong suspicion
this is the issue.  I don't think it has to do with ZoneAlarm.  How could I
tell whether or not MAC address restrictions are in place?
