Shared Folder porblem in VPC2007

I have VS2005 in my VM accessing a shared folder (S:) pointing at my source
tree on the host.  The linker reported it couldn't delete vc80.idb.  Sure
enough, I couldn't delete it in a CMD window on either the VM or host.  Turns
out the "VirtualPC.exe" had a hold of it.  I had to shut down the VM, delete
the file, and then start the VM up again.  Why?

You would be much better off using network sharing for this situation.

Unfortunately, that doesn't explain why the shared folders don't work.  In
addition, I haven't explored the impact of user credentials when my host is
in its Active Domain and work and when I'm riding the train.  My
"credentials" in the VM are foreign to both.

Most likely this is caused by a bug in shared folders.  Shared folders
was designed to allow files to be easily copied back and forth - not for
complex file operations like compiling.

At this stage you can either try standard networking - or call product
support.

The other thing I've noticed is that if I mount a network drive and click the
box to reconnect at log in, it doesn't really connect!  I have to put in
credentials for another domain and although it shows the drive as mapped,
VS2005 can't access until I reconnect manually...
