Better Midi Playback?

I don't know if any of you have heard the midi playback on virtual pc but IT
IS HORRIBLE!!!! I even had to plug my ears! Is there any way to make it
better?

What OS are you running?  How are you generating MIDI sound?

i am running win 98 se. What do you mean by generating
