Add this VHD in Windows Virtual Server 2005 R2 SP1. After logging in the
2008, the desktop does not show Start button. However, by sending
Alt-Ctrl-Del key, Task Manager shows the Windows is working. How to access
the Windows without Start button? Thanks.

Are you sure that the Start button isn't outside the display area? I
started a vm the other day which was set to 1400x900 and I had to move the
screen display to see the Start button. Once you find the button you can
open Control Panel and change the screen resolution.

I am sure it is not. There is nothing showed on desktop except a command
window pupup after logging in the window. I have Win2K Server and Exch2007
VHD added in as VMs and they are working fine. I can change the screen
resolution but not on Windows Server 2008 - right click the desktop but no
menu popup.

Then what you're seeing is by design as you've installed the Server Core
version which does not include a GUI. Have a look at the Microsoft web site
for Server 2008 for more details.
