I have a true network color printer whose static IP is set to192.168.1.10. I
successfully installed the 64-bit Vista driver to create a network printer. I
can send print job to this printer. I also have a USB printer attched to a
printer server whose static IP is set to 192.168.1.11. However, this printer
does not have 64-bit Vista driver. I am planning to run VPC 2007 and
installing windows XP (32-bit) guest OS. How do I need to configure the
virtual guest machine's network to be able to access this USB printer. FYI,
my desktop PCs (running XP pro 32-bit) can access this USB printer as network
printers.

Thanks for any help and advice.

Regards,
Van

It should work with the default network settings. The guest OS will look
just like another machine on your local LAN.

If it cannot see the other machines and the printer on the LAN, check
that the NIC in the guest is set up to link to the physical NIC of the host,
and that it is set to get an IP address automatically. It should get its
network config from DHCP on the LAN, just as your desktops do.
