I am running 2 virtual pcs on windowsXP.
Eg: - VP1(OS: redhat) and VP2(OS: redhat)

Now, my question is how to change VP1 networking-> Adapter 1 connection
“from MS Loopback Adapter 1 to MS Loopback Adapter3” using the Command-line
(CLI) reference.

It will be every help full if you mail example cli command to
arunkumar.thudi@wipro.com

Thanks in Advance
Regards,
-Arun Thudi

PS:
1. In GUI: Select VP1,  Edit -> settings -> networking -> Adapter 1: MSLA1
to MSLA3.
Options are:-
1.    “Not Connected”
2.    “Local Only”
3.    “MS Loopback Adapter 1/2/3/etc…

There is no command line interface for Virtual PC.  Virtual Server has
a full API and command set, but VPC is designed for heavy GUI use.

The limited set of command line options for VPC doesn't manage this.
You could try manually modifying the .vmc file.

Thank you Steve Jain for your valuable response

Now I am facing a silly problem.
I am unable to save the modified .vmc file, “when virtual pc is running”.

If possible could you please send a mail directly to me, So that I can solve
all VPC issues at a time?

PS: My intention is to change the MS Loopback AdapterX to MS Loopback
AdapterY "without using the GUI interfaces when virtual pcs are running",
because my framework supports CLI testing only.

You are going to have to shut the machine down to change the configuration
file.  Its just like a physical machine, you can't change the hardware in it
while it's running.

Hi All,

I have written CLI (Command-line Interface) Framework for some software’s
testing.
For that I have to change the virtual pcs / VMware workstations connections
each and every test suite, but I can’t do these things by using GUI, because
my framework supports CLI only.

So my questions are
1. Can we changing the connection between 2 VPC/WMware workstations using
the Command-Line Reference/Applications?
                                   OR
2. Is there any way to modify files to change the connections between 2
VPC/WMware workstations, without shutdown the VPC/WMware workstations?
