Bootable lloppy images?

Where can I get a set of floppy images that will allow me to install DOS on
a VPC?  I don't have a physical floppy drive, and all the images I've tried
return a "Non-System Disk" error.  Therefore the VPC tries to boot from C:
drive, but can't because I can't install DOS on it, which I can't do because
the floppy image won't boot.

Thanx:

Windows XP can make a bootable floppy when you format a disk.

You can also install FreeDOS http://www.freedos.org/

MS-DOS is still under copyright so you cannot legally download it.

That's true, but not much use to the OP...

Since I still have my original DOS 6.22 floppies, I have no ethical qualms
about downloading it.  The problem is that my system doesn't have a floppy
drive, or I'd just use my original disks.

Do yourself a *huge* favour and get one of these:

Your virtual machines will see it as a regular floppy drive via emulation,
which will allow you to install DOS from your physical diskettes...

Where have you found DOS images...?

Oh right - thought you meant actual copies of DOS...

I have those as well, but I don't recall where I got them.  The VPC will
boot with the image from bootdisk.com.  The problem starts when I try to
install the full DOS package.  the VPC won't boot from disk 1, which it
needs to do to install the OS.

(Answered on the wrong thread as Jack noted....)

I got curious and looked through my old MSDN disks and found one
labelled "16 bit operating systems", which contained MSDOS disk images
(both 1.2 and 1.44 Mb floppy images). However after concering the IMG
file format to VFD using WinImage and booting a new guest from the VFD
it turned out that it won't install because it is an "upgrade" and it
could not find any operating ystem installed to upgrade...

Bottom line though:
WinImage can create a VFD image file, which will catually boot in
VPC2007. You only need to supply a valid source, which in this case is
not so easy given the lack of a 3.5" drive...
