I have VPC 2007 installed on a XP host PC.
VPC is running another copy of XP.
There are 2 nic's on the host pc, 1 for and internal network and 1 for
external network.
I want to use 1 nic for the host to connect to the internal network and the
other nic for the VPC to connect to the external. How would i set this up as
i cannot seem to be able to do it.
thanks

In the Settings for the VM, set one NIC to use your host's NIC, i.e.
the external network, and the 2nd NIC to local only, which would be
your internal network...unless you have a more specific meaning of
external and internal network.

Sorry maybe i didnt make it very clear.
the 2 networks are company one (internal) and a broadband connection
(external)
i want to use just the company network on the host pc and just the broadband
connection on the VM.
There are 2 independant network adaptors so hopefully i can use 1 nic for
each connection.
The 1 major requirement i have is that the host pc (on the company network)
does not see the broadband connection on the VM.
Thanks for the help.

In that case, select one physical NIC for each virtual one under the
VM's settings.

You have to do two things here, one in the VPC2007 console settings
for the guest and one on the host system itself:

1) VPC2007 guest settings
Under networking make sure you select as Adapter1 the broadband NIC on
your host PC.

2) In the connections on the host:
- Select properties for the Broadband NIC and *un*check *all*
checkboxes in the list *except* for the "Virtual Machine Network
Services"
- Select the properties for the Company Internal NIC and *un*check the
"Virtual Machine Network Services" item.

What this does is that it tells VPC2007 to channel the Broadband NIC
to the guest machine AND it disables all other uses for that NIC on
the host system. For the internal NIC the opposite is true, disable
the VPC use and enable everything else.

THios should effectively isolate the two systems from each other.
Please note (but you know this already, I assume) that on the guest
system you will have to provide/enable all the Internet firewalling
you need since it is directly on the Internet.
