My objective is to install Ubuntu as a second operating system under Virtual
PC 2007 so that it runs from the hard drive under the VM. I should be able
to transition from one OS into the other OS which is what I've done before.

I have a bootable CD of Ubuntu that does boot properly and I can run from
it. I alsohave the .iso image on my hard drive.
In addition, I have a Ubuntu804.vhd and CD/DVD has a current value of
Primary controller.

Whenever I start VPC 2007, click on Ubuntu and then click the start button,

I get an opening ubuntu screen and then an unrecoverable processing error
and the virtual machine resets.

I'm sure the Ubuntu OS hasn't been installed to the HD.

How, under VPC, do I install Ubuntu to the vhd ?

Where am I going wrong?

Sean,
Thanks for the post!

I've been trying to get Ubuntu 8.04 server to install in virtual server
2005. All it took was hitting F6 at the initial menu and adding
noreplace-paravirt to the boot options.

This has been driving me nuts for the last two weeks.

Let's see, Linux (all distributions combined) have .61% of the market share.
