I got the Solaris 10 OS on 3 CD's from Sun with the intention of running it
on VPC.  I can't figure out how to start the installation process.  I've
installed UBUNTU, DOS, and Win 95 thru XP ok, but I can't get started with
Solaris.  Any advice?

I spent a lot of time about a year and a half ago to try to install
Solaris 10 into VPC2007 without success. There was always some
showstopper or other. First there are the *very complex* deviations
from a standard flow during setup and finally the darned thing would
not do the last reboot...

What actually does work is the "virtual appliance" for VMWare Player
that SUN themselves have prepared! Go here to get the appliance:
http://www.vmware.com/appliances/directory/420
and here to get VMWaer Player:

I was able to do Solaris 9 on VPC 2004 several years ago but not Solaris 10
on any VPC version.

I gave up trying to get Sun Solaris 10 installed into VPC 2007.  I ended up
installing it into VirtualBox. (Sun have a branded VirtualBox available to
download from their website - the Sun xVM VirtualBox
http://www.sun.com/download/index.jsp?cat=Operating%20Systems&tab=3&subcat=Virtu
alization
).
