I am new to Virtual PC so please excuse me. I searched the forum and
couldn't find my problem. I created a new VPC. I joined the domain
at work. I can now sign on to my VPC using my network credentials.
Once on the VPC, I can ping my network servers. I can also get on the
internet. Connectivity seems OK. However, I cannot access my SQL
Server 2000 and 2005 servers on my domain. I usually use WIndows
Authentication. My username (including domain) com up when attempting
to connect. When I browse for SQL Servers, none come up. When I type
the name of my server I get a message stating that it "Cannot connect
to SERVERNAME ... Timeout expired ... the server us not responding."
When I "Browse for more" the list of servers returned is empty. When
I try to connect using SQL Authentication, I get the same message. To
me this means that it is not because I am not authenticated, but
rather, it is because of a lack of access.
I am sure I missed something elementary, but I would really appreciate
any help I can get.

Checked the firewalls on the host and guest to make sure they're
allowing this?
That's usually the first gotcha.
