My real machine is running Vista Ultimate 64 w/duo core and 8 gigs of memory.
My virtual machines are all XP pro installs. I am running VPC 2007.

Recently all my virtual machines have stopped responding when I start them
up. The console says that they are running but the machines themselves say
"not responding" I normally run one vpc at a time and it is always the same
one. My other VPCs worked but were seldom used.

I can try to start any one of them and they all respond the same way(or
don't respond). The VPC console is also grayed out and won't let me access
any of the menus or settings.

I can't even kill the process.

Any suggestions on how to get these to work again?

TIA

Have you tried downloading the latest SP for Virtual PC and then
reinstalling the additions?  That might help.

You can't hurt anything by uninstalling VPC and downloading the latest copy
(VPC 2007 SP1) and installing it.  You also can't hurt anything by deleting
the .vmc file for each vm and creating new ones with the New Virtual Machine
Wizard as long as you select "use an existing virtual hard drive" and then
browse to the appropriate location for each vm.  And as Robert suggests you
can't hurt anything by updating the virtual machine additions for each one.
If you are still using VPC 2007 and not the newer VPC 2007 SP1 you want to
do that anyway after installing the new version.
