I'm having trouble installing Redhat 9 to a virtual machine on
VPC2004.
I create a new virtual machine, accepting the default values. Then
from the VPC console I start the new VM. Under the CD menu, I capture
the ISO for RH9 disk 1. The VPC boots up, and the initial Redhat menu
appears, prompting me whether to start in graphical or text mode. I
pick a mode (result is the same for graphical and text), and the
machine begins to boot. Regardless of the installation method I
chose, I end up with a text-version setup. I select my language, and
then when prompted for "Installation Method", I choose "Local CDROM".
When I do that, however, I receive the following error:
"The Red Hat Linux CD was not found in any of your CDROM drives.
Please insert the Red Hat Linux CD and press OK to retry."
I can select OK til my finger bleeds, but I don't make any progress.
Have any of you seen this issue before? Any advice?
Thanks in advance!

Yes, I had the same problem. It was a bad ISO image. I re-
downloaded the ISO from RedHat and it worked perfectly.

I agree with Scottie, Beam Him Up (oops, wrong script). :-)
Red Hat 9 normally mounts the CDROM automatically so I would download again.

I had no trouble with Red Hat 9.0 install. I got the iso's from
http://www.linuxiso.org I think I selected the vesa video driver (with
8MB of memeory) instead of the detected driver. Make sure the iso is
still captured when you press enter.
