The size of the DVD for VS 2006 is greater 2.2Gigs; so maybe the solution
explained at the point 7.8 in the following reference is applicable to you:

Personally, I use Daemon Tools (free) for this kind of job.

Interesting. I shared my DVD drive on host PC, then mapped it from VPC. I am
able to open the file now. I will try to do the complete install and see if
it solve the issue. My feeling is YES.

Use this image when the program ask for the file, and then, put the original again when ask for the next file.
