system diskerror

Mysystem was working just fine until the other day.  Now when I try to start, I receive this message "disk errorI/O, replace disk and hit any key".  I'm stuck, please someone HELP!!!!!!!!

Go into the BIOS setup and make sure the hard drive is properly
configured.  Also, see if the boot sequence is set to "A:,C:".  Be
sure to save any changes when exiting.
