I have to move 4.5 Gigs of music from a windows 95 machine
to a Windows 2000 machine. Bought cable, but don't know
where to go from here.

What sort of cable?  The simplest procedure for that volume of data is
probably to remove the W95 hard disk drive and install it in the W2K
machine. Otherwise you can use a network connection (strongly recommended if
this sort of thing is likely to happen again) or Direct Cable Connect,
depending on what sort of cable you bought.
