Hi there;
I have a question about Windows passwords that I hope someone will
help me out with.
I was trying to set my 'Windows logon' password, and in the control
panel I set-up my password, rebooted, put password in, and it opened
windows fine. However when I reboot anytime, if I 'Cancel' the box
that comes up asking for the password, it just opens Windows anyway
-so what is the point of even having Windows Logon then.
Does anyone know of a way that I can password protect my computer, so
that no one can get to my Windows desktop?
Thanks a mill........ Theresa

Your BIOS probably offers a password protection option. Access BIOS setup
using the special key (such as F2) mentioned on screen while the memory
count ticks over. Look for an option to enable password protection.
Windows 98 does not pretend to be a secure system. The Windows username and
password is simply used to set your preferences and to identify you to other
users on the network.

Not with Windows 95. You might consider putting a password in
the BIOS (the hardware that starts your computer).
