I have windows 95 setup all ready to go with all the
neccessary files in a folder on my desktop. How would I go
about installing win 95 and getting rid of NT? When i
click setup it says that setup cannot run from within
windows NT and to start computer in MS-Dos and run setup
from there. How would I go about doing this?

thanks

First you must be sure that you do not have an NTFS
partion - Windows 95 will not be able to deal with that
at all.

Use a Windows 95 or 98 boot floppy (www.bootdisk.com has
several) to boot to a command line.  At the a:> prompt,
type c: and hit the enter key.  If it tells you invalid
disk (or some other error message) then you probably have
an NTFS partition and you cannot install Windows 95 until
it is replaced with a FAT partition.

If it does successfully access the c: drive, then change
directorys to the folder that contains the Windows 95
install files and type setup.

I have doubts about it working with Windows NT installed
though.  A clean install on an empty harddrive/partition
is always recommended.

P.S., what does Windows 95 offer that you don't have in
Windows NT?
