I have reinstalled windows in an older compaq computer
from the manufacturers restore disc and when I try to
start I get the message "type in "windows command
interpreter" ex, C:\WINDOWS\COMMAND.COM
I type this in, but still get the same response.
Any Ideas?

Click on Start/Find and enter "command".

You should find command.com in C:\Windows \Command.
